Junior Professor Contract (Tenure Track Professor)
New approaches in chemistry-biology for the design of therapeutic molecules and their vectorization

The Institute of Radical Chemistry, ICR (UMR7273), is a Joint Research Unit between the University of Aix-Marseille (AMU) and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). From a scientific point of view, ICR brings together the complementary skills of research teams specialized in radical chemistry, including synthesis of new molecules and materials, characterization with state-of-the-art spectroscopic and computational methods and applications in challenging areas (sustainable polymers, long-lived radicals as drugs, photocatalysis...). Among the 8 ICR research teams, the Radical Pharmaco-Chemistry team of ICR, localized on the Health campus Timone in Marseilles (Faculty of Pharmacy), mainly focuses on medicinal chemistry research devoted to getting new anti-infective or anti- cancer molecules.
The research performed by the PCR team is structured along two main axes: the development of new synthetic methods mirroring the design of new organic electron donors and the preparation of new molecules with potential anti-infective or anti-cancer activity.
The PCR team is looking for candidates to a Tenure-Track position (Chaire Professeur Junior), showing a keen interest for anti-infective or anti-cancer medicinal chemistry projects involving, but not limited to, radicals concerning the synthesis or the mechanism of action of bioactive molecules. These medicinal chemistry projects will be able to take advantage of innovative approaches such as RNA targeting, targeted protein degradation (PROTAC...) or epigenetic regulation ...
Candidates are invited to submit a competitive and innovative research proposal, ideally integrating with the PCR team and the broader ICR and Health campus Timone ecosystem. Applicants must hold a PhD, substantial postdoctoral experience, a strong publication record, and the potential to secure external funding.
The Junior Professor Contract position offers attractive start-up support and a dynamic, collaborative research environment. In accordance with the requirements of the call, candidates must submit their application to AMU independently of any research unit but must specify and motivate in the proposal their intention to join a particular laboratory and team.
Expressions of interest are welcome from candidates wishing to join the Radical Pharmaco- Chemistry (PCR) team: please do not hesitate to contact Prof. Thierry Terme (PCR) Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs.
